1966 Flood in Trentino: Memory and Territory Defense at MUSE

On November 4, 2026, the MUSE – Science Museum in Corso del Lavoro e della Scienza, 3, will host an event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the 1966 flood. This initiative serves as a moment of reflection on one of the most dramatic events in the recent history of the Trentino region, when exceptional rainfall caused landslides and flooding, deeply impacting the collective memory.

The event, scheduled from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, offers an opportunity to explore the history of the flood and understand how this tragedy transformed the approach to risk prevention, urban planning, and environmental protection. These activities in Trento are organized by MUSE – Science Museum.

The program includes free-access science shows, included in the museum entrance ticket, and the inauguration of the exhibition space, which will be free and does not require a reservation. It will be a significant occasion to analyze the importance of territory defense and community resilience in the face of natural hazards.
