Celestial Harmonies in Riva del Garda: A Journey Through Sacred Music

In the heart of Garda Trentino, the evocative town of Riva del Garda prepares to host a cultural experience of profound resonance: “Celestial Harmonies”. This concert is not merely a musical performance, but a spiritual and artistic itinerary spanning centuries of Italian sacred music history. The chosen setting is the magnificent Chiesa dell’Inviolata, a Baroque masterpiece that for over four hundred years has embodied the harmonious dialogue between art, faith, and beauty.

The program invites a meditative listening, presenting a repertoire that ranges from ancient medieval popular lauds, drawn from the 13th-century Laudario di Cortona, to the refined compositions of the early 17th century. Selections from “La Ghirlanda Sacra” of Venice, 1625, will be performed, featuring works by masters such as Claudio Monteverdi, Alessandro Grandi, and Giovanni Pietro Berti. The female Ensemble “Flos Virginum” from Fornace, with tenor Mauro Cristelli and theorbo player Pietro Prosser, will recreate the sonorities that once echoed in liturgical spaces, in a dialogue between human voice and historical instruments.

The extraordinary acoustics and monumental value of the Chiesa dell’Inviolata provide the ideal context for rediscovering these works, originally conceived for contemplation and liturgy. This initiative aims to enhance this invaluable heritage, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a high-profile artistic experience. “Celestial Harmonies” thus emerges as a moment of authentic beauty, an occasion to connect with history and spirituality through the universal language of music.
