EL BAS. Stories of mountaineers with the ‘Campanil’ fever in Vallelaghi

The Teatro Valle dei Laghi hosts an event dedicated to mountaineering history titled “EL BAS. Storie di alpinisti col Mal dei Campanil”. The evening, scheduled for November 27th at 8:30 PM, will feature Alessandro Beber as moderator.

The Campanil Basso, often defined as the most beautiful bell tower in the world, represents a symbol of the Brenta Dolomites. Its fame, which has grown since the second half of the 19th century, has exerted a deep fascination on generations of climbers, drawn by the elegance of this rock obelisk. The history of the “Bàs” is a tale of adventures, vertical challenges, and constant dedication, with roots intertwined with the municipality of Vallelaghi.

Alessandro Beber, mountaineer and mountain guide, will take the audience on a journey back in time to explore the origins of the so-called “mal del Campanil,” a condition that has driven many Trentino mountaineers to tackle the walls and ridges of this iconic spire. Ticket prices for the evening start at 8.00 €.
