“Il Sabato del Villaggio” at Teatro Camploy, Verona: A Metropolitan Anti-Show

The Teatro Camploy in Verona hosts a unique event: “Il Sabato del Villaggio” (Saturday in the Village), an anti-show conceived by Andrea Castelletti based on Furio Sandrini’s metropolitan tales. Forget the rural village sung by Leopardi; here, the focus is on the metropolitan, global, and unstoppable village, where a perpetual “no parking 0-24” rule applies.

On stage, a kaleidoscopic melting pot of varied humanity comes to life, offering glimpses of cruel and poetic reality. A surreal daily hustle in a frenetic era, amidst empty opulence, vanity, desolate reasonableness, and media-induced daze. Themes and questions often relegated to the margins of individual existence are brought to light.

Expect a whirlwind of emotions, sensations, and reflections, supported by a text that blends irony and evocative pathos, merging with metropolitan music created specifically for the work. An experience that invites you to look beyond the surface, into the pulsating heart of contemporaneity. For information and reservations, visit modusverona.it.
