Livia Mattos at Teatro Valle dei Laghi

On November 10th at 9:00 PM, the Teatro Valle dei Laghi in Vezzano will host a performance by Livia Mattos. The event is part of the “Paesaggi Sonori – Musiche dal Mondo in Valle dei Laghi” project, an initiative that brings internationally acclaimed artists and performers of global musical traditions to the local area.

Livia Mattos, an accordionist, singer, and composer from Bahia, will present an artistic proposal rooted in forró, choro, and frevo, while embracing improvisation and timbre research. Her musical journey is the result of years of travel and collaborations, as evidenced in her recent album Verve, where Brazilian sounds engage in a dialogue with influences from India and Senegal.

The accordion will be the central focus of the evening, as the artist moves beyond traditional norms to transform it into a medium of expressive freedom. Accompanied by tuba, euphonium, drums, and percussion, she will create a rhythmic and unpredictable performance, capable of reinterpreting Brazilian popular culture with a fully contemporary sensibility. Tickets for the show are available starting from 8.00 €.
