Lúcia de Carvalho in concert in Vallelaghi

On December 12 at 9:00 PM, the Teatro Valle dei Laghi in Vezzano will host a performance by Lúcia de Carvalho. This event is part of the project “Paesaggi Sonori – Musiche dal Mondo in Valle dei Laghi,” which brings internationally renowned artists and performers of world music traditions to the local area.

Lúcia de Carvalho’s biography reads like a musical map, featuring Angolan origins, a Portuguese childhood, a French adolescence, and a deep passion for Brazil. Her music is a fusion of African roots, Brazilian and Portuguese repertoires, and contemporary sounds ranging from reggae and funk to pop.

A dancer, singer, and songwriter, she has developed a unique artistic path since 2009, where rhythm and body movement play a fundamental role. Her work includes “Kuzola,” meaning “to love” in Kimbundu, which was both an album and a documentary born from a journey to rediscover her roots. With “Pwanga!” – meaning “Light” – she further expanded her research through collaboration with producer Jean Lamoot. Her music is sunny yet profound, built on the continuous movement between memory and the present, connecting Africa, Europe, and South America.

Tickets for the concert start from 8.00 €.
