Hike to Monte Tomeabrù: A Balcony over the Ledro Valley

Monte Tomeabrù offers a spectacular view of the Ledro Valley, providing a worthwhile alternative to the more crowded Cima Parì. This route, rich in history, will lead you through places that bear witness to the events of the Great War. Along the way, you can admire the remains of the old military hospital at Bocca Saval and the Rifugio Pernici, once a refuge for Austrian officers.

During the spring, the alpine pastures of Trat and Saval transform into a riot of colors thanks to the flowering plants. This circular route will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the nature and history of this area.

• Starting point: Malga Trat
• Route: Follow the dirt road to the malga, then take the senter dele vache (SAT 435). Shortly before Bocca Saval, take the unmarked path to the Carèt cross and continue to Monte Tomeabrù. Return towards Carèt, but turn right towards Malga Saval. Continue to Bocca Saval and take trail SAT 413 to Rifugio Pernici. From the refuge, follow the path to Bocca di Trat and descend towards the malga and the parking lot.
