Each year, as late spring arrives, Verona prepares to host an event that for almost half a century has celebrated community spirit and local tradition: Porto Maggio. Now in its 47th edition, this gathering in Porto San Pancrazio, held in the courtyard of the L. Fava Middle School, remains an unmissable occasion for people to connect, a bridge between generations meeting to share joy and flavours.
From May 22 to May 31, 2026, the Porto San Pancrazio Carnival Association, in synergy with the 7th District, has curated a rich and varied programme. The beating heart of the festival will be the gastronomic stands, ready to delight palates every evening with culinary offerings designed for everyone. The experience begins with a welcome aperitif, a warm gesture of hospitality inviting all to toast together at the opening of the festivities.

Music will animate the evenings with a succession of performances: from the ’70s-‘2000 dance rhythms of Walter Master J, to 883 tributes by Rotti per Caso, all the way to the energy of Yano Music Machine and cover bands Mamalover Band and I Guastafestival. There will also be moments dedicated to dance, with performances from the Tai Ballet Studio school and demonstrations by Kangoo Fit Verona and Judo Club. Families will find a welcoming space with baby dance every evening and a children’s area, where creative workshops with Amerà Apcycling and face painting by the Red Cross will bring smiles to the little ones.
Highlights of the event include a parade of vintage bicycles and the official celebration of the 47th edition with city authorities, a convivial lunch for the district’s elderly, and the presentation of AVIS donor awards. Porto Maggio is more than just a festival: it is a collective narrative, an authentic expression of a neighbourhood that comes together and renews itself, offering everyone a memorable experience of conviviality and entertainment.
