The history of the Sardellata is deeply rooted in times when Garda was a humble fishing settlement. As dusk fell, fishermen would set sail towards Pal del Vo, a shallow water area between Sirmione and San Vigilio, where sardines would lay their eggs. Upon their return, the catch was cooked and shared in a spontaneous celebration, a ritual that lives on today with the same passion.
The 2026 edition enriches the experience with an engaging musical programme. On Saturday, July 25th, the Arenetta will host a concert by Hierba Mala. On Sunday, July 26th, Piazza del Municipio will resonate with the 70s/80s music of the Larry Band, followed by an evocative drone fireworks show that will light up the sky above the lake. On Monday, July 27th, back at the Arenetta, Effetti Collaterali will close the festivities with their melodies.
