Immerse yourself in a suggestive itinerary that combines spirituality and scenic beauty in Bleggio Superiore. This loop trail, dedicated to the Stations of the Cross and the Thaumaturgical Cross, will lead you to discover the “Sass de Santa Cross”, a granite monument that holds a centuries-old legend.
Starting from Santa Croce, you will cross the picturesque village of Bivedo and follow the SAT465 path, immersing yourself in a landscape characterized by lush meadows and ancient dry stone walls. Along the way, you can admire Cima Sèra, Monte S. Martino and Val Marcia.

The path continues into the pine forest to “Tre Vie”, then winds along the “Via Piana” (trail marker SAT 465/B) to “La Guarda”, where the majestic “Sass de Santa Cross” stands.
Legend tells of a shepherd who carved a wooden cross, which miraculously always returned to “La Guarda” despite being taken to the church of Bleggio. Since 1629, the cross has remained permanently in the Pieve di Bleggio, but it is still carried in procession in case of calamity.
After admiring the monument and enjoying the view, the SAT 465B path will take you back to Vergonzo, where you can visit Castel Restor, then continue to Duvredo and return to the starting point.
