Titian’s Venus and the Musical Renaissance in Verona

To mark the centenary of the Museo di Castelvecchio, Verona presents an exhibition dedicated to Titian’s “Venus with a Dog and an Organ Player”. Located in the Sala Boggian, the exhibition runs from October 31, 2026, to January 31, 2027, and explores the profound connection between Renaissance painting and the world of music.

Alongside Titian’s masterpiece, the exhibition features works by Jacopo Tintoretto and Marietta Robusti, displayed together with original musical instruments, manuscripts, and madrigal books from the Accademia Filarmonica di Verona. The project is enhanced by a series of concerts performed by students of the “E. F. Dall’Abaco” Conservatory, allowing the artworks to resonate with the music they evoke.

The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00, with the last admission at 17:15. Guided tours, included in the ticket price, are available upon reservation, as well as educational activities for schools. For information and bookings, please contact the Educational Secretariat of the Civic Museums.
