1° Mangio: Food and Wine Walk in the Valle dei Laghi

Immerse yourself in a unique experience that celebrates nature, tradition, and conviviality in the splendid Valle dei Laghi, near Riva del Garda. “1° Mangio” is a food and wine walk that will lead you through a hiking trail of about 10-11 kilometers, winding through lush vineyards, charming historic villages, and imposing castles.

The goal is simple: to combine the pleasure of an outdoor walk with the discovery of the authentic flavors of Trentino’s rural cuisine. Get ready to delight your palate with culinary specialties at each stop, paired with local wines that enhance the tastes of the territory.

Starting from Castel Madruzzo/Stravino, the route holds surprises at every turn. The local Pro Loco associations will welcome you at the refreshment points, offering a typical menu that includes barley coffee and biscuits for breakfast, speck, luganega and local cheeses as appetizers, spätzle or potato gnocchi as a first course, and carne salada with beans (“fasoi en bronzon”) as a second course. There will also be desserts such as strudel or yogurt with strawberries, followed by coffee and tastings of artisanal grappas, famously those from Santa Massenza.

But “1° Mangio” is not just food. Each stage is enlivened by live music, with acoustic groups and accordions, and by demonstrations of local crafts, such as woodworking or leather crafting, transforming the day into a true community festival.
