A Historical Hike to the Hermitage of San Giacomo
Embark on an adventure on the slopes of Monte Stivo, from Bolognano to the Hermitage of San Giacomo, a panoramic balcony overlooking the Upper Garda. This route will lead you through wooded paths and places rich in history, offering breathtaking views.
- Starting point: Bolognano
- Route: From Bolognano, follow the signs for Gazzi and then the SAT 608 path to Salve Regina. Behind the chapel, take the SAT 609 path to the Hermitage.
- History and culture: The hermitage, documented since 1288, was a refuge for travelers and pilgrims. It is still a pilgrimage destination today.
- Tips: The hermitage is open on summer Sundays. For a shorter alternative, you can reach Salve Regina by car and continue on foot for about 20 minutes.
