A Creative Journey into Monotype: The Art of Printing at Museo Miniscalchi-Erizzo

Delving into the artistic heart of Verona means discovering not only its ancient history but also its vibrant contemporary expressions. The Museo Miniscalchi-Erizzo offers a unique opportunity to explore the monotype technique, an art form that merges painting and printing into an unrepeatable experience.

On June 6, a workshop led by artist Cecilia Zanetti will guide you through this fascinating process. This is not about reproductions, but about creating original works of art, each a unique specimen, born from the interaction of color, surface, and intuition. It is a process that celebrates the uniqueness of every creative gesture.

The inspiration for this laboratory draws from Verona’s rich 20th-century artistic heritage, honoring figures like Ildegarda Dalla Porta, a master of ivory miniature, and Carlo Donati, known for his sacred decorations. It is an occasion to connect with tradition while exploring new forms of expression.

During the workshop, participants aged 16 and above will experiment with different working methods on plexiglass surfaces, using subtractive and additive painting techniques. Brushes, rollers, and textured fabrics will become tools to bring ever-changing prints to life, reflecting one’s own artistic vision.

At the end of the three-hour workshop, everyone will have gone through the entire creative process, from conception to inking, to the final print, taking home not only a personal creation but also a deep understanding of this versatile technique. The activity, with materials included, costs 25 euros per participant and requires reservation to ensure the best experience. An afternoon dedicated to creativity, learning, and beauty in the elegant setting of the Museo Miniscalchi-Erizzo.
