A journey through time: discovering Roman Trento

The S.A.S.S. Underground Archaeological Space, located in the heart of Trento, renews its commitment to history by offering visitors an unprecedented immersive experience. Starting June 14, 2025, the archaeological site introduces virtual reality headsets, turning the discovery of Tridentum into an authentic journey through time.

The “Tridentum VR” project allows visitors to explore four fundamental sites of the ancient Roman city: the S.A.S.S. itself, Porta Veronensis, the Palazzo Lodron archaeological area, and the amphitheater. Thanks to accurate digital reconstruction, visitors can observe the remnants of the past in a new light, complementing the archaeological tour with high-profile technological storytelling. This initiative is included in the entrance fee, making the cultural offering even more accessible.

The site is open from Tuesday to Sunday, with the virtual reality experience available from 10:00 to 12:00 and 15:00 to 17:00. Please note that the use of headsets is not recommended for children under 8 or individuals with sensory impairments, ensuring optimal use for every type of visitor. This is an essential stop for anyone wishing to understand the deep roots of this fascinating alpine city.
