The Arena of Verona prepares to host once again Aida, a cornerstone of Giuseppe Verdi’s operatic repertoire. During the 104th Arena di Verona Opera Festival, audiences will be immersed in the visionary production by Stefano Poda, a project that seamlessly blends Ancient Egyptian iconography with a striking contemporary aesthetic.
This “crystal” production plays with transparencies and light geometry, creating a bridge between classical tradition and modern art influences. The narrative, which intertwines the fate of the Ethiopian princess Aida with her forbidden love for the warrior Radamès, finds its most solemn setting within this ancient space. Performances are scheduled for August 12, 22, and 28, followed by dates on September 2 and 8, 2027.
