Bee Happy! Tournament in Riva del Garda: A Sustainable Youth Hockey Event

Now in its tenth edition, the Bee Happy! Tournament in Riva del Garda is more than just a sports competition. It’s a valuable opportunity for meeting and exchange, both sporting and human, for athletes from all over Italy and Europe. At the same time, it represents an effective promotional tool for the city of Riva del Garda and its territory internationally.

Over the years, the event has established itself as one of the main events for youth hockey in Europe, attracting an ever-increasing number of teams competing for available places. For three years, the tournament has been proudly recognized with the Eco Eventi Trentino brand, thanks to a completely sustainable organization and numerous shared initiatives.

These include the use of reusable cups and water bottles with the Eco-Eventi logo, the supply of water via drinking fountains to reduce the use of plastic, and the presence of an ecological island dedicated to education on separate waste collection. The commitment to sustainability extends to the use of zero-kilometer food, biodegradable tableware and many other actions aimed at improving environmental quality.

Every year, the tournament brings hundreds of young athletes, together with their parents and companions, to the shores of Lake Garda. It is estimated that the Sant’Alessandro Sports Center will welcome around 800 people, confirming the event as an appointment of great sporting, social and tourist importance for the area.
