Blessing of the Barcaroi in Riva del Garda: a tradition that renews the bond with the lake

The traditional Blessing of the Barcaroi returns to Riva del Garda, renewing an ancient rite that celebrates the indissoluble bond between the community and the waters of Lake Garda. On May 2nd, the boats of enthusiasts and workers of the lake will gather under the Capitello della Madonina to invoke, as per tradition, good weather and protection for navigation.

The event, which marks the beginning of the lake season, will see the participation of the Mayor, local authorities and the Archpriest of Riva, who will impart the solemn blessing. A moment of profound spirituality and heartfelt belonging, in which history and maritime culture merge in a symbolic embrace.
