Chernobyl Night: Analyzing a Catastrophe in Gonzaga

In Gonzaga, an evening dedicated to understanding the Chernobyl event. The meeting, part of the “terre_basse” event promoted by the Municipality of Gonzaga and the Circolo Filatelico Numismatico e Hobbistico, offers a detailed analysis of the disaster.

Ivan Ongari, an engineer, energy consultant, and designer of thermotechnical systems, will guide the audience through the chronicle of this tragedy: from the historical and geographical context of the Soviet Union to the functioning of a nuclear reactor.

The causes of the 1986 accident, its social, environmental, and health consequences will be analyzed, in a journey through civil and military uses of nuclear energy, up to the challenges and reflections on current energy issues. An opportunity to reflect on an event that marked history, in the heart of Gonzaga.
