Chernobyl Night in Gonzaga: History, Energy, and Reflections

The city of Gonzaga hosts an event of profound historical and scientific reflection: “Chernobyl Night”. The meeting offers a historical and geographical contextualization of the Chernobyl site and its history, analyzing the value of nuclear energy and its civil and military uses.

The event, part of the “terre_basse” review promoted by the Municipality of Gonzaga and the Philatelic Numismatic and Hobbyist Circle, retraces the chronicle of the disaster: from the historical and geographical context of the Soviet Union to the functioning of a nuclear reactor, from the analysis of the causes of the 1986 accident to its social, environmental, and health consequences. Ivan Ongari, engineer and energy consultant, will guide the audience on this journey through the history and implications of nuclear energy, stimulating reflections on current energy issues. An opportunity to delve into complex and crucial themes of our time in Gonzaga.
