From Prati di Nago to the Summit of Monte Altissimo: A Panoramic Hike

Embark on an unforgettable adventure that will lead you from the picturesque Prati di Nago to the summit of the majestic Monte Altissimo. This route, part of the Sentiero della Pace del Trentino (Trentino Peace Trail), offers breathtaking views of Lake Garda and allows you to discover the historical evidence of the Great War.

The hike winds through the Parco Naturale Locale del Monte Baldo (Monte Baldo Local Nature Park), a true ‘Garden of Europe’ for its incredible biodiversity. Along the way, you can admire trenches, tunnels, and barracks, vestiges of the past conflict.

Starting from Prati di Nago, follow the SAT 601 trail which, passing through Monte Varagna, will take you to the summit of Monte Altissimo and the Rifugio Damiano Chiesa. Enjoy a well-deserved break with typical Trentino dishes before returning along the same route.
