Emotions in Motion: “Bolero / Vivaldi Umane Passioni” at the Teatro Salieri in Verona

The Teatro Salieri in Verona is preparing to host a dance event that promises to touch the strings of the soul. On March 11, 2026, the MM Contemporary Dance Company will stage “Bolero Soirée — Bolero / Vivaldi Umane Passioni”, a choreographic diptych signed by Michele Merola.

The show combines two creations distant in time, but close in expressive intensity. On one hand, the relentless crescendo of Ravel’s Bolero, an iconic composition of the twentieth century. On the other, the pages of Vivaldi, steeped in anxieties and vitality.

“Bolero” is a choreographic reinterpretation that explores human relationships, misunderstandings, distances, and desires that cross couple relationships. Tension, irony, seduction, and conflict take shape through the bodies of the dancers, following the inexorable progression of the music. Musical inserts by Stefano Corrias open brief parentheses of intimacy.

“Vivaldi Umane Passioni” is a dialogue between music and movement, in which the dancers translate human passions into gesture, inspired by the paintings of Marc Chagall. Joy, restlessness, expectation, and desire come to life on stage.

The MM Contemporary Dance Company, directed by Michele Merola, is a reality of excellence in the panorama of Italian dance, with a rich and varied repertoire.
