From November 4, 2026, to August 22, 2027, the Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia hosts the exhibition “Tesori. Il grande romanzo dei Musei bresciani. 1826 | 2026”. This event celebrates the bicentenary of the city’s Civic Museums, showcasing one hundred works and artifacts of great historical and artistic significance, typically kept in museum storage.
The exhibition is divided into five thematic sections ranging from archaeology to figurative arts, nature, and history. Visitors can admire the first artifacts discovered during the Capitolium excavations in 1826, drawings by Luigi Basiletti, prehistoric items, Etruscan vases, and objects from ancient Egypt. The display also features masterpieces from the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, including drawings by Appiani and engravings by Dürer and Rembrandt, alongside scientific instruments such as a rare 11th-century Byzantine astrolabe.
