Every street in a city tells stories, a crossroads of lived experiences. Even the most distracted passerby, walking the streets of Mantua, can perceive how windows, shops, and corners preserve the memories of those who lived there and the signs of the city’s changes over time.
The walk along Corso Umberto I will be an opportunity to give voice back to these silent witnesses. Like in the courtyards of the past, at dusk we will stop along the street to do filos: share memories and walk together in the Mantua of yesterday.
This heritage walk is not a guided tour, but a participatory itinerary that invites exploration of the territory through the sharing of everyone’s experiences. The event is curated by the Mantua and Sabbioneta UNESCO World Heritage Office.
