GardaTrek Top Loop 2: Descent to Lake Tenno

A breathtaking hike in the heart of Garda Trentino, part of the GardaTrek Top Loop, that will lead you from the Nino Pernici refuge to the San Pietro refuge, crossing enchanting places. This section is mainly downhill and offers spectacular views of Lake Tenno and the medieval village of Canale.

The route winds at the foot of Monte Tofino, then descends towards Lake Tenno, famous for its turquoise waters. After a refreshing break, you climb up to the village of Canale, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and finally reach the San Pietro refuge, a panoramic balcony overlooking Lake Garda.

Tips:

In summer, don’t miss a swim in Lake Tenno. Always check the conditions of the Sentiero della Regina (SAT 445) at the Rifugio Nino Pernici, especially in winter, due to the risk of avalanches. In case of bad weather, consider the variant to Campi (SAT 402).
