The collaboration between the museums of Arco and St. Moritz continues with a new exhibition dedicated to Giovanni Segantini, a key figure in painting between the 19th and 20th centuries. This exhibition, following the success in Bassano del Grappa, offers a journey through the master’s entire artistic career.
A curated selection of works from the collections of Arco and the Engadine, enriched by private loans, presents a comprehensive overview of Segantini’s production. The exhibition begins with works from the 1880s, including the works from the Navigli series, such as the famous ‘Portrait of a Woman in Via San Marco’. It continues with a selection of drawings from the Brianza period, before delving into the Swiss phase, with the evocative painting ‘Autumn Sun’.

A special section is dedicated to engravings taken from Segantini’s works, created by his sons Gottardo and Mario, recently acquired by the civic collection and now exhibited to the public for the first time. This exhibition marks the beginning of a shared project that will extend to St. Moritz, bringing the Arco collection beyond national borders and enhancing one of Italy’s most important Segantini collections. The event will be held in Riva del Garda.
