Giro al Sas: the historic race in the heart of Trento

On September 26, 2026, Trento prepares to host the 79th edition of the “Giro al Sas”, an international 10 km race that winds through the most evocative streets of the historic center. Born in 1907 to honor the patron saint San Vigilio, this competition has seen some of the world’s greatest athletes triumph, from Stefano Baldini to Paul Tergat.

The route, a one-kilometer loop, runs between via Roma, via Oss Mazzurana, via Mantova and via San Pietro, offering a unique spectacle for fans who crowd the streets every year. In the afternoon, space for the youngest with the races of the CSI youth provincial championships and the Giro al Sas Kids, a promotional event for children aged 2 to 8 years. The evening will culminate with the Giro al Sas dei campioni, the spectacular international race that for 78 years has seen the best world specialists in athletics compete.

An event that celebrates history, tradition and sport in the heart of Trento, an unmissable event for lovers of running and sports entertainment.
