Great Battles in Small Scale: History at the National Historical Museum of the Alpini

From September 26th to December 6th, 2026, the National Historical Museum of the Alpini hosts an exhibition that transforms model making into a tool for historiographical research.

Organized in collaboration with the Trentino Model Making Group for Historical Study and Research, the exhibition features around one hundred pieces, including aircraft, military vehicles, and miniatures. The precision of the details serves as a testament to rigorous research, allowing visitors to explore five crucial moments of the 20th century: from the Battle of Vittorio Veneto to the operations of the Gulf War. Through the careful recreation of settings, the visitor observes the evolution of uniforms and equipment, gaining a better understanding of the context behind major military operations.
