Interactive fairy tale “The Three Pomegranates” at the Astra Theatre in Verona

The Cinema Teatro Astra in Verona is preparing for a special event dedicated to the value of giving. On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Altri Posti in Piedi company presents “The Three Pomegranates,” an interactive fairy tale inspired by Italo Calvino.

The show, in collaboration with FIDAS, transforms the theater into a place of fun and solidarity, involving spectators of all ages. After the show, children can participate in creative workshops to re-elaborate their emotions through drawing. In addition, among all the season’s participants, a free season ticket will be drawn for the next Family Season, with the draw taking place before the summer review “Corte dell’Astra.”

Inspired by Calvino’s “The Love of the Three Pomegranates,” the show tells a coming-of-age story through popular symbolism. The story begins with a wound that gives rise to a prodigy, a prince in search of his beloved, amid trials of courage and ambiguous characters. Along the way, he receives three pomegranates, a precious and mysterious gift, discovering the power contained in those fruits.

The show addresses themes such as choices, courage, and responsibility. The prince’s journey symbolizes the passage to maturity, where desire, challenges, and encounters lead him to understand the true meaning of love. The prince learns to look beyond himself, recognizing the value of others and taking care of them. Adventure and feeling merge with the theme of giving, not only what is received, but above all what is offered to others.

The show is conceived, written, and directed by Luca Dossi, with set design and lighting by Marco Pomari. On stage, Nicola Pazzocco, Barbara Lombana, and Davide Colombini bring the characters to life. The illustration is by Nicolò De Togni.

The Family Season will officially end on March 22 with a free guided tour of the Cinema Teatro Astra, upon reservation by writing to [email protected]. The ticket costs 5 euros, free for disabled people (reduction for the companion). The Family season ticket at 40 euros is also valid for the Teatro Famiglie – Corte dell’Astra, from June 29 to July 30, 2026.
