The Arca di Fraporte: A Geological Adventure in Stenico

Immerse yourself in an unforgettable experience at the Arca di Fraporte, a majestic natural cave near Stenico. Be amazed by the enormous size of the cave, the roar of the waters forming impetuous waterfalls, and the unique light effects that filter through the cracks in the rock. A place that also fascinated the geologist Cesare Battisti, as evidenced by his writings.

Route Description:

Starting from the square of Stenico, follow the SAT 346 trail marker along a narrow and steep road that turns into a mule track. Cross the forest to the locality of La Croce, then continue on the Plaz forest road to the bridge over the Rio dei Molini. At the fork, take the SAT 346A path to the Arca di Fraporte. Admire the stone stove (Coel delle contesse) and continue until you reach the imposing Arca di Fraporte, with its 42 meters wide and 49 meters high. The return is via the same route as the outward journey.
