Mantua Fortress: a journey through landscape and history

An immersion into the military history of Mantua, a fortress city. The itinerary, part of the Cammina Mantova 2026 program, starts from Porta Giulia and winds through a suggestive route that combines the city and the lake. You will discover the sixteenth-century Fortezza di Porto, the Rocchetta di Sparafucile and the nineteenth-century lunettes of Fossamana and Frassino.

A walk of about 7 km that intertwines landscape, military architecture and historical memory, offering an immersive experience. The event is curated by the Porta Giulia-Hofer Association, the Andreas Hofer Cultural Space and the ASD Nordic Walking Mantova.
