Montagna 2050 on Monte Bondone: A Dialogue for the Future of Alpine Regions

The Trentino region is set to host a moment of deep reflection and discussion with the fifth stage of Montagna 2050, an initiative promoted by Slow Food Trentino. On May 23, 2026, attention will turn to Monte Bondone, in the evocative locality of Sant’Anna a Sopramonte, for a journey dedicated to listening to communities and gathering visions for the future of our mountains.

This event offers an opportunity to explore innovative perspectives and build a sustainable tomorrow for the Alpine regions. The day will commence with a conference featuring Giuseppe Vignali, director of the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine National Park, and Fausto Giovanelli, former president of the same Park, both prominent figures in environmental protection and territorial enhancement.

Following the conference, five thematic discussion tables will provide all participants with the chance to actively contribute. Crucial topics will be addressed, such as civic participation and the role of mountain areas in decision-making processes, aiming to strengthen the voice of local communities. Another table will focus on safeguarding biodiversity, analyzing agricultural and pastoral models that preserve ecosystems and generate virtuous local economies.

The dialogue will continue on tourism, questioning forms of hospitality that respect the daily lives of residents, and on the narrative of the mountains, seeking authentic ways to portray them without falling into stereotypes. The final discussion will concern living in the mountains, exploring services, relationships, and accessibility to build a future in these high lands. The day will conclude with a convivial moment, an occasion to share impressions and strengthen connections. Admission is free for all activities, an open invitation to participate in this important debate.
