Hike to Mount Colodri and Colt: A Balcony over the Sarca Valley

An unmissable hike for nature lovers and breathtaking views. This loop trail will lead you to discover Mount Colodri and Colt, two peaks that offer spectacular views of the Sarca Valley and Lake Garda.

• Starting point: Historic center of Arco.
• Route: The trail starts in the center of Arco and climbs towards Laghel, following the ancient Via Crucis. Continue on the Sentiero dei Lecci to the summit of Mount Colodri, where you can leave a message in the notebook placed near the cross. Retrace your steps to the “Muro dell’Asino”, then follow a path that leads to the saddle between Colodri and Colt. Then climb to Mount Colt, from which you can enjoy an exceptional view. The descent takes place on a dirt road towards Ceniga, where the picturesque “Roman bridge” is located. From here, return to Arco along the Sarca river, passing by the Hermitage of San Paolo.
• Difficulty: Suitable for experienced hikers, with exposed and steep sections.
• Points of interest: The castle of Arco, the via ferrata of Monte Colodri, the summit crosses of Colodri and Colt, the panorama from the top of Colt, the Roman bridge of Ceniga, the Hermitage of San Paolo.

Useful tips: In summer, stop for a swim in the Sarca river under the Roman bridge of Ceniga. Visit the Hermitage of San Paolo, decorated with frescoes, open to the public in summer.
