From March 13th to April 10th, 2026, the Feltrinelli bookstore in Verona hosts the photo exhibition “Mother Water. Protecting Water as a Universal Right” by Maurizio Marcato. Through 24 images, the exhibition explores the relationship between humanity and water, connecting the principles of the Founding Mothers to contemporary challenges in protecting this fundamental right. The exhibition is part of the Connessioni – Guida al Futuro project and the program of the March 8, 2026 event, La Repubblica delle donne.
Eighty years after women’s right to vote, “Mother Water” celebrates the legacy of the Founding Mothers who helped make water a universal asset. Marcato’s photographs document the life cycle of water and the contrasts of the contemporary world, inviting reflection on abundance, scarcity, protection, and waste.
