“Non c’è differenza”: a festival of respect and inclusion in Verona

From May 10th to May 17th, 2026, the Teatro Laboratorio in Verona will host the twelfth edition of the “Non c’è differenza” festival, an event dedicated to the culture of respect and inclusion. Under the artistic direction of Isabella Caserta, the festival aims to break down physical and mental barriers through eight days of performances, screenings, events, workshops, and an exhibition.

The Teatro Scientifico – Teatro Laboratorio, since its founding in 1968, has always dedicated particular attention to civil and social theater themes. The festival continues this commitment, offering a varied program that explores difference in all its facets. In 2019, the project received an award from the Olivetti Foundation for its contribution to bringing people closer to the world of disability and spreading a culture of mutual respect.

The program includes theatrical performances such as “Processi Bestiali”, “Orsante”, “Árpád”, and “Dissonorata”, readings, screenings, and workshops. Special attention is given to the bilingual short play “Il Silenzio che Parla”, with a performance in LIS, followed by a speech by Barbara Verna, President of the National Association of Italian Deafblind People. Shows and screenings have a symbolic ticket price of 1 euro.

The festival is organized by the Teatro Scientifico – Teatro Laboratorio, with the patronage and contribution of the Municipality of Verona and various foundations and partners. The Teatro Laboratorio is fully accessible to people with disabilities.
