“Othello, the Moor of Venice” at Teatro Satiro OFF: An Intense Shakespearean Experience in Verona

From April 9th to 12th, Casa Shakespeare presents “Othello, the Moor of Venice” at Teatro Satiro OFF, an immersive experience in Shakespearean drama of love, deceit, and jealousy. This event is part of the annual Shakespeare 2026 festival, transforming Verona into an international hub for Shakespearean theatre.

The performance retains the original English text, enhanced by an Italian narration that guides the audience through key moments, making it accessible and engaging. The dramatic choice to have Cassio as the narrator and sole survivor offers an intimate look at the dynamics between the characters.

Andrea de Manincor’s adaptation, who also plays Othello, provides a fresh interpretation of the work, exploring universal themes such as trust and jealousy. Directed by Solimano Pontarollo. A dynamic show that captivates the viewer from the outset, leading them into a crescendo of tension.
