Palazzo delle Albere in Trento celebrates the centenary of Riccardo Schweizer’s birth, a versatile artist who masterfully combined painting, sculpture, architecture, and design with a distinctive style. The exhibition, open from November 29, 2025, to March 1, 2026, offers an immersion into his creative universe, a thematic journey that explores the different areas of his production, highlighting his contribution to 20th-century art and his deep connection with the Trentino region.
Born in the heart of the Primiero mountains, Schweizer combined international influences and Alpine roots, engaging with masters such as Pablo Picasso and Le Corbusier. From his figurative beginnings in the 1940s, with a keen eye on daily life and landscape, the artist developed a research on sign and color that led him to dialogue with the European avant-garde in the 1950s and 1960s.
The exhibition presents a wide selection of works from public and private collections: paintings, sculptures, ceramics, drawings, architectural projects, and furnishings that testify to the extraordinary variety of his production.
