Shearing Day in Molina di Fumane: A Journey into Wool Tradition

In the heart of Valpolicella, specifically in Molina di Fumane, an event celebrating an ancient and precious art returns: sheep shearing. The Pro Loco of Molina di Fumane, in collaboration with Lana al Pascolo, invites you to a day dedicated to discovering the world of wool, an authentic experience for all ages.

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, starting at 10:30 AM, Molina di Fumane’s square will come alive with the shearing of Brogna sheep. It will be an opportunity to observe this centuries-old ritual up close, understand the importance of wool fleece, and follow the journey that leads to the creation of a thread. A moment to connect with the rural roots of the territory, appreciating the craftsmanship and sustainability of an ancient trade.

The afternoon, from 3:30 PM, will be dedicated to an engaging felt workshop. Children will have the opportunity to participate for free, upon registration, in the creation of a carpet. An activity that combines creativity and learning, using the raw and genuine colours of wool. The final handmade item will be a gesture of solidarity, donated to the “Fattoria casa mia” in Ospedaletto di Pescantina, near Verona. An initiative that goes beyond a simple event, weaving connections with the community and values of sharing.

This day in Molina di Fumane represents an invitation to slow down, to immerse oneself in an atmosphere of discovery, and to rediscover the value of local traditions, within a natural setting of rare beauty.
