The battle of the seeds at Villa Canestrari Franchi

On October 18th at 5:00 PM, Villa Canestrari Franchi in Illasi will host a presentation dedicated to the book La battaglia dei semi. The event, organized by the Associazione Editori Veneti, features the author in a deep dive into the obscure dynamics of the global seed industry.

During the discussion, data regarding the concentration of the seed and agrochemical markets will be presented, highlighting the social repercussions and the importance of preserving agricultural biodiversity. The investigation does not stop at exposing the issues, but explores a journey through Italy, focusing on farms, associations, and cooperatives that carry forward a sustainable production model based on traditional knowledge and seed exchange.

This event is an opportunity to reflect on the future of the Italian agri-food system and the importance of food sovereignty, examining the challenges posed by the agro-industry.
