The Colourful Children’s Carnival of Volano

In Volano, the most cheerful festival of the year is celebrated with the return of the famous Children’s Carnival, now in its 67th edition. A unique event in Vallagarina and among the largest in Trentino, ready to colour the days of young and old.

The appointment is in Volano, where on Saturday 14th and Tuesday 17th February, allegorical floats and masked groups will parade through the streets of the village, bringing joy and fun. The program is full of surprises, including the traditional Alpine macaroni, a contest to reward the most beautiful masks and, of course, the spectacular parade of floats.

On Saturday 14th February, from 1.30 pm, the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups will kick off the festivities. On Shrove Tuesday, starting at 12.00 pm, the Piazzale dell’Oratorio Don Italo Morghen will come alive with the Alpine macaroni, organised by the Gruppo Alpini Nikolajevka of Volano. In addition to pasta, there will be sandwiches, strauben and the music of Sabrina Silvestrin’s accordion.

At 2.00 pm, all masked children can participate in “Mascherissima”, a colourful and imaginative parade. Registration is open until 1.30 pm on site and participation is free.

In case of bad weather, the parade of allegorical floats will be postponed to Saturday 21st or 28th February.
