The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner: A Cinematic Portrait in Trento

Immerse yourself in the human and sporting story of Walter Steiner, a legendary ski jumper, through Werner Herzog’s masterpiece, “The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner.” The event will be held at the Harpo Lab in Trento on February 22nd at 10:30 AM.

The film, in its original language with Italian subtitles, traces Steiner’s career, gold medalist at the 1972 and 1977 world championships, and holder of a world record that lasted for five years.

The screening will be introduced by Mauro Gervasini, followed by a dialogue with Giorgia Vian, author of the book “La postura di Walter.” A unique opportunity to delve into the figure of an extraordinary athlete and his cultural influence.

Admission is free at Harpolab and Centro Congressi Pinè 1000, while there is a cost of €5 at Supercinema Vittoria and Multisala G. Modena, with presale available online.
