The Night of Chernobyl: Analysis and Consequences in Gonzaga

The municipality of Gonzaga hosts an evening dedicated to analyzing the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. The event, titled “The Night of Chernobyl,” aims to examine the chronicle of this tragic event, starting from the historical and geographical context of the Soviet Union to the functioning of a nuclear reactor. The causes of the 1986 accident and its social, environmental, and health consequences will be analyzed.

The meeting will be a journey through civil and military uses of nuclear energy, addressing the challenges and reflections on current energy issues. The speaker for the evening will be Ivan Ongari, an engineer, energy consultant, and designer of thermotechnical systems. The event is part of the “terre_basse” series, a cultural initiative promoted by the Municipality of Gonzaga and the Philatelic Numismatic and Hobbyist Circle, with the aim of integrating history, science, art, and current events into an educational path.

An opportunity to reflect on an event that has marked history and to better understand the energy challenges of the present.
