The Philharmonic of Trento: A Palace of International Classical Music

The Philharmonic of Trento, with a history rooted in 1795, continues to be a beacon for the city’s musical life. In its elegant palace on Via Giuseppe Verdi, reminiscent of the Musikverein of Central Europe, a classical music season of the highest level is celebrated. The rich and carefully curated program brings to Trento the brightest stars of international chamber music, from Sol Gabetta to Janine Jansen, from Sabine Meyer to Jakub Józef Orliński, passing through Voces8 and Joshua Bell.

Alongside the main season, the Philharmonic offers festivals designed to involve an increasingly wider audience: family concerts, educational programs for schools, inclusive experiences, and Sunday matinees. A constant commitment to cultivate and spread musical culture, which has given impetus to the birth of the city orchestra, the band, the choir, the mandolin group, the Music High School – now Conservatory “F.A. Bonporti” – and the musical section of the Municipal Library.

The Philharmonic boasts numerous collaborations with musical and cultural institutions internationally, nationally, and locally, promoting a continuous dialogue between music, history, and community. Not to be forgotten is Filarchiv, the center dedicated to the history of Italian philharmonics, and the Collection of Trentino Musicians, with over thirty publications, including the complete edition of the works of Francesco Antonio Bonporti.
