The Therapeutic Garden Days at Pojega: Nature, Art and Well-being in Valpolicella

The Giardino di Pojega, an 18th-century masterpiece nestled in the beautiful Valpolicella region, is preparing to host the second edition of the Therapeutic Garden Days on May 23 and 24, 2026. This event transforms the historical landscape near Verona into a vibrant space for connection, listening, and profound well-being, where nature itself becomes a conduit for healing.

The initiative, born from an awareness of the therapeutic value of beauty and a slower pace, this year focuses on the delicate theme of aphasia. In collaboration with the IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria of Negrar, the days will explore how art, movement, and sensory practices can offer new avenues for expression and connection, extending beyond words. Painting, poetry, dance, and live music will serve as tools to rediscover participation and autonomy.

Saturday, May 23, will open with a roundtable titled “The Limit as a Threshold,” a moment of narrative medicine where personal experiences and rehabilitation journeys will take center stage. The afternoon will see the garden come alive with workshops open to the public: from performance poetry to photography workshops, from olfactory experiences to inclusive dance, and a collaborative mural. All activities will be enriched by itinerant lyrical singing performances.

Sunday, May 24, will be dedicated to holistic practices. Visitors can immerse themselves in sessions of aromatherapy, music therapy, Reiki, phytotherapy, therapeutic writing, and caring massage, finding an oasis of relaxation and connection in the heart of the garden.

This project is a shared endeavor with the local community, supported by the Guerrieri Rizzardi Agricultural Estate and involving numerous associations. Admission, at 10 euros, will allow both free visits and participation in workshops (by reservation), also contributing to supporting AITA Veneto – Italian Aphasia Association. An opportunity to experience the Giardino di Pojega not merely as a place to admire, but as an experience to feel and share.
