The Trombini Festival in Selva di Progno: a dive into Veronese folklore

From May 30th to June 2nd, 2026, Selva di Progno comes alive with the traditional Trombini Festival in S. Bortolo delle Montagne. An event that evokes local history through music, folklore, and the inevitable firing of the trombini, the ancient blunderbusses that once drove away evil.

The “trombini”, derived from 17th-18th century weapons, are now symbols of village festivals. During the festival, local artisans exhibit their creations, perpetuating an ancient tradition. The program is rich: food and wine stands with local and Bavarian specialties, musical evenings, craft markets, and parades with the Cogollo musical band. There will also be Holy Mass at the ancient oratory of the Santissima Trinità, firing exhibitions with twinned groups, and a firework display at the end.
