Tools: From Work to Sporting Dream – METS

The METS – Museo etnografico trentino San Michele presents “Tools: From Work to Sporting Dream,” an immersive and multimedia multi-event project that will animate its halls from December 5, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Typical objects of winter peasant and alpine life, such as sleds, snowshoes, and skis, are transformed from work tools into leisure objects, characterizing new social groups. In parallel, starting from the late nineteenth century, these objects, by perfecting themselves, become instrumental to the sporting gesture. The exhibition path will propose an unpublished selection of objects and enhance a rich film and photographic heritage, an essential element for understanding the alpine culture of our territory.
