Val Marcia: A Hike Through History and Nature

Immerse yourself in the wild Val Marcia, a place where history and nature blend together. This valley, located south of Bleggio and enclosed between Monte Altissimo and Monte Cogorna, is crossed by the Duina stream and offers an unspoiled environment of rare beauty. Discover why crosses were erected at the beginning of the valley in 1656 to protect the village from witches!

The hike, also suitable for trained children and seniors, will take you up to 1580 meters above sea level, with some fairly steep sections of the trail. Starting from Balbido, you will follow the SAT 462 trail, crossing woods and streams, until you reach Malga Dablino and Bait dei Caciadori, an exceptional panoramic point on the surrounding peaks.
