“Vicini di casa”: Theatre and Reflections in Castiglione delle Stiviere

The Teatro Sociale in Castiglione delle Stiviere hosts “Vicini di casa” (literally, ‘neighbours’), a comedy by Cesc Gay, directed by Antonio Zavatteri. On stage, Amanda Sandrelli, Gigio Alberti, Alessandra Acciai and Alberto Giusta bring to life a story exploring couple dynamics, love, and routine.

Anna and Giulio, a seemingly ordinary couple, find their precarious balance disrupted by the arrival of their neighbours, Laura and Toni. Little is known about the newcomers, except for their decidedly exuberant erotic life. Between aperitifs and confessions, the hypocrisies and inhibitions of our time emerge, filtered through the lens of Cesc Gay’s Catalan irony.

Antonio Zavatteri directs this quartet of actors with mastery, inviting the audience to reflect on the prejudices and taboos that often guide our relationships.
