To mark the centenary of the Verona Castelvecchio Museum (1926–2026), the city presents a compelling thematic exhibition: A Museum, a Statue. From the 1926 Layout to the Cangrande according to Carlo Scarpa. Running from April 24, 2026, to January 10, 2027, this initiative offers a profound insight into the history of one of Italy’s most significant museum spaces.
Curated by Ketty Bertolaso and Fausta Piccoli, the exhibition is divided into two parts. The first section examines the evolution of the museum’s layout throughout the 20th century, while the second focuses on the storied equestrian statue of Cangrande della Scala. Through historical photographs, archival films, and detailed panels, visitors can explore the synergy between art, architecture, and the masterful museography of Carlo Scarpa.
