Aerovita: exhibition dedicated to Gianni Caproni in Arco

The Galleria Civica G. Segantini in Arco hosts the exhibition “Aerovita. Futurist aeropainting and Gianni Caproni: machine, aesthetics and myth”. This event celebrates the Italian aeronautics pioneer on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of his birth and the 70th of his death.

The exhibition explores the connection between Futurist aeropainting and the myth of flight, featuring over fifty works from major national collections. Visitors can discover pieces by prominent Futurists such as Balla, Depero, Tato, Fillia, and Benedetta Cappa Marinetti, alongside historical documents and models that showcase Caproni’s legacy.

Divided into five thematic sections, the exhibition guides the public through aviation feats, new visual perspectives, and the artistic interpretation of flight, which became a symbol of progress and freedom in the 20th century. It is an opportunity to delve into the intersection of art, science, and history, paying tribute to one of Arco’s most distinguished figures.

The exhibition is open from May 31 to December 23 and from December 27 to January 6, 2027, from 10:00 to 18:00.
